On this activity, guided by Vasco Fonseca (Naturalist) & Ricardo Soares (Archaeologist), we'll follow the biodiversity trail of Boca do Rio, revealing the secrets of this special estuary, along a 3 km walk, where Nature, History and Friendship meet. Boca do Rio is one of the last preserved estuaries in the Algarve, where three streams flow into the sea, forming the “Paul da Lontreira”, a wetland rich in insects, reptiles, amphibians, birds, mammals and plants. It is also a place with a long fishing tradition, with archaeological remains dating from Roman times to the 18th century.
